Because Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany doesn't expect the Irish to be a conversation topic around his league anytime soon.During an interview with the Tribune regarding the conference's various changes, including its new logo and division names, Delany again downplayed the possibility of Notre Dame joining the fold. And Notre Dame has demonstrated no signs that it wants to, anyway."I think after watching them and interacting with them for 20 years, they feel it's in their best interest to be independent," Delany said.�Asked by the Tribune what he made of that, Delany replied simply:
