Going green is just a fantasy for creating jobs
We are inundated with going green from Asheville City Council to the White House. Consider the number 14. Consider how meaningless it is to the 14 percent underemployed when actuarial types tell us that by 2024 we will all benefit from reduced emissions. When will the ever-increasing inventory of 14 million homes in the U.S. that are unoccupied be filled one day? And last, the national debt will exceed $14 trillion shortly. These endemic problems, particularly excessive and sustained high unemployment, transcend government's pursuit of what has become a green ideology; not exactly a job-creating machine. The unemployed and underemployed have no interest in programs that promise to save us money years 20 years out.Further, if you buy into the notion of job creation supported by a medieval infrastructure of windmills and solar panels, think again.Consider the U.S. used to be called the world's bread basket but not if you desecrate one of our greatest assets, arable land. It reminds one of Cervantes' Don Quixote the dreamer and Sancho Panza, the realist; Sancho tells his master, ?I sometimes think that all you tell me of knighthood, kingdoms, empires and islands is all windy blather and lies?
